If you have a story to tell then send it to my email, and a photo or two would be nice.
This chapter features a gentleman who was part of the clan that helped mount the BFCC in London for many years, he now presents a regular Blu Ray/4K review on You Tube, under the banner “Movie Collector” and frequently mentions Derann.
John Clancy
That could be a long story Ged but if I can help then obviously will. I think I was about 15 when I was first taken to Derann by my parents. What a dream place that was. That was just a start and although I inadvertently dropped out of the film collecting scene after about 1983 for a few years, I returned just as Alien was about to be released full length. I think Mike Dimmock answered the phone when I telephoned on a whim to see if Derann were still in business. That would have been 1991 and I’m still here today and probably have one of the most impressive Super 8 collections in the world. Doug Meltzer would undoubtedly pip me to the top spot though!
