Girls! Girls! Girls!

by

This was the third most popular of the Elvis Presley features we picked up from Grand National, whose contract also included the western ‘Last Train from Gun Hill’ and five additional Elvis Presley musicals: ‘G.I. Blues’, ‘Blue Hawaii’, ‘Paradise Hawaiian Style’,  ‘Fun in Acapulco’ and ‘King Creole’, all originally released by Paramount Pictures and  produced by Hal Wallis Productions.

Not one of his best and it was perhaps a sign of what was to follow… small story-lines, a couple of fist fights, lots of young girls in swimwear or mini dresses and a series of progressively  inferior songs… take a quick look at ‘Harum, Scarum’ or Double Trouble’!…. just enough to fill an album! Stella Stevens is his co-star in an early film role, up to that time she’d mainly appeared in TV series and TVMs.  Our label was nothing special, but it was Elvis and his fans would have purchased copies even in black plastic bags!
