Derann had almost 30 Pathe Pictorials by the time we closed our doors, but had started with just a handful from various sources even before I joined in 1975. During that same year we would succeed in signing a contract at EMI which would include a number of Pathe Pictorials: ‘Hollywood’, ‘Auto Cine’, ‘Steamboat Down The Nile’, ‘Royal Air Force – 50 Years’, ‘Copenhagen’, ‘Round The World For Fun’, ‘Organ Museum’, ‘Operation Saratoga’, ‘Steam Engine Collection’, ‘Historic Film’ and ‘Land of Fairy Tales’. They all sold very well, however the first four titles were phenomenally popular and were constantly being re-ordered.
This simple black and white label was used on all of the titles for some time. Later we would print individual labels for ‘Hollywood’, ‘Auto Cine’ and ‘Steamboat Down The Nile’, in four colours as they were such good sellers, while a new generic label in colour was produced for the remainder and the many new Pathe Pictorial titles that would be added over the next few years.
