A two page article from the December April 1954 issue: This delightful comedy drama was the BAFTA winner for best film in 1954. Charles Laughton hogs the screen in every scene in which he appears, I’m not typically into a film of this nature, but was pleasantly entertained throughout. Even following a number of inquiries into it’s appearance on 8mm, I’m still uncertain as to which distributor(s) released the title in question. Powell and/or DCR lead the possible dealer….. and to add oil to the fire I have memories of recording this at Derann, which have recently been proven by the discovery of a page from a 1984 newsletter, so it seems that Derek was able to lay his hands on the negative. I don’t possess a Derann label and can’t find an example on the internet, so if you can help out please scan and post!
