A two page article from the November 1969 issue: I remember thinking how studio bound the North Pole sequences looked to me when I first saw this in a cinema! My opinion hasn’t altered, but I do love the Michel Legrand music score. It is nevertheless a taut cold war thriller, with Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine and Patrick McGoohan in excellent form and it does keep you guessing as to who’s the bad guy. The Ken 3×400′ and 400′ from Ken Films were solid sellers and kept collectors very happy.
