Paul Newman and Robert Redford had already appeared together in 1969s ‘Butch Cassidy and athe Sundance Kid’…. another box office success! I’d been among the audience at the first showing at the ABC Wolverhampton and the twist at the end had been a complete surprise to everyone including myself and I’d gone over it many times on my way home. Universal 8 released the title as a 2×400’ and a 400 edition both in colour sound. It was in demand and even second hand prints would quickly be snapped up.
