Nigel Parkinson doesn’t know exactly when Denis, his Dad, started the business, but recollects that it began as a hobby and as it got busier he went into it full time. The name Elizabethan was derived Denis’s wife, Elizabeth. Nigel also recalls that as children he and his sister earned pocket money watching the second hand films that dad had bought and making a list of how many splices, scratches, if any etc, etc, and it was this he that got them hooked on film. As far as he can remember the shop was opened in the late 70s. Denis closed the shop in 2015, due to ill health. Both Mom & Dad were keen photographers, and this was also something that Nigel enjoyed – he shot his sisters wedding on Super 8. Nigel looked after the ever popular ‘Film Fun Days’, an event that ran a massive 35 years.
