Collector’s Corner – Mahmood Ali

If you have a story to tell send it to my personal messenger, and a photo or two would be nice.

Mahmood Ali

My name Mahmood Ali, from Iraq/Kurdistan region, I was about 5 years old my big brother took me to the theater for the first time in my life. From that time there was some thing in  my heart and soul, which it was love ❤️ of cinema. In 1982, with the help of my brother and parents I bought my first Elmo (sc-18).  Super 8 and sound plus a few Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy movies from Walton. I was much exited.

I begun looking for films, they were too expensive and hard to find as full feature films. After 1991 we got more films and started to get more and more and today, I feel happy 😊 to be the biggest dealer of super 8 and 16mm in Iraq, owning about 1000  super8 reels and over 100 full feature of 16mm.

And every night I have to project something to relax my heart ❤️ with my projectors.   I have about 50 (super8 and 16mm) projectors, and collect many films from different dealers like Walton, Derann, Marketing Film Club, UFA, Piccolo Films, Coloumbia, MGM, Castle, AVO and more…I can send some examples for that.

I hope this is helpful. Mahmood
