2010: The year we make contact

by

A three page article from the April 1985 issue, plus a 10 page press book. This Oscar nominated  Sci-Fi epic receives a moderate 6.7 rating on the IMDb. and was a film I was eager to hand over my money in order to gain entrance, and experience, as it was the sequel to one of the most ground breaking movies it had my pleasure to see at the Casino Cinerama Cinema in London’s West End. It wasn’t as overwhelming as 2001, however it didn’t spoil the film with flashy fast special effects and true to the original was slow paced. This title was issued as a full feature by Dietrich Kempski using his Scoptimax process for his Super 8 CinemaScope releases. When he retired he offered Derann the negs and soundmasters to much of his product and we reissued the title now mounted on 4×600′ spools.
