If you have a story to tell send it to my personal messenger, and a photo or two would be nice.

Hi GED, I started collecting films and equipment around 1963 when I was a mere 12 years old, I first got to know Derann around 1985ish when they had a stall at the Westminster film convention in London, I was still living the at that time, I remember they were selling brand new 400 ft films for £4 each and 200ft for £2, then I heard about the Blackpool film convention, by now I had moved home to County Durham around 1988 so it wasn’t to far to travel there, I don’t think I missed any after that including the March bash, also visited Derann on their open days (loved the cinema upstairs) I also went to the Birmingham do a couple of times, I remember that there was a dozen tip up seats for sale in the auction but nobody bid so was offered them for £1 so of course I snapped them up not even thinking how I was going to get them home, any way I managed to get 6 squeezed into my small car, that had to be the bargain of the century, the bug had bit and I started going to as many film fairs as I could, I used to like the film fun day at Farnworth, I remember when Derek and excuse my memory either you or Steve Wellings joined him, Derek said it was nice to be this side of the counter for a change and had a good day, I’ve now been collecting for some 60 years and I still enjoy as much now as ever if not more.
