This is perhaps my favourite ‘Mummy’ from Hammer Films. As good as Cushing and Lee are in the first of their Egyptian offerings for me It felt so studio bound. This was one of the titles from our third contract with EMI the others were ‘Lust for a Vampire’, 1971; ‘That’ll Be the Day’, 1973; ‘Tickle Me’, 1965; ‘Stardust’, 1974 and ‘The Devil Rides Out’, 1968, considered by many to be their finest thriller. Master material was a 16mm print, but the 8mm prints were very good and sales reflected that. Another label designed by Marianne Frost.
