A two page article from the October 1985 issue starts our look at this 1985 Sci-Fi comedy drama which receives a 6.7 rating on the IMDb. This was only the eighth feature length film directed by former TV child star Ron Howard and is a personal favourite of mine. This is probably due to the casting of so many wonderful actors.
Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy and Maureen Stapletonare a welcome change to the usual teenage casts of the time. We issued the title in an attempt to fill the hole created with the loss of ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’, but it wasn’t entirely successful. Issued on 5 x 600′ with a choice of mono or stereo soundtrack. I don’t possess a Derann label and can’t find an example on the internet, so if you can help out please scan and post!
