Two pages from issues of The Motion Picture Herald from 1959. This 1959 comedy receives an 8.2 rating on the IMDb won an academy award and was nominated for a further five. It follows the misadventures of two male musicians who witness a mob hit and they flee the state in an all-female band disguised as women, but it only adds to their problems. Directed by Billy Wilder it stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon as well as some great appearances from George Raft and Joe E Brown. I’m never sure as to where the rights originated from UA or MGM, as MGM acquired UAs films in 1980. It was released as a full feature but surprised us with only moderate sales.
