‘Carry On Constable’ was the fourth in the series which was slowly building its ‘team’ of regulars, Kenneth Connor, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, and Hattie Jacques. Sid James makes his debut in the series in this one, while early regulars Eric Barker, and Shirley Eaton also turn up. Leslie Phillips makes his last appearance in a Carry On for 32 years. He wouldn’t resurface until ‘Carry on Columbus’. This was the first film in the series that I saw at the cinema! No Super 8 release.
