In September 1958 a British institution was born with the release of the first in a series of comedy films. ‘Carry On Regardless’ was the fifth in the series. By now a fairly regular team was established with Sid James, Kenneth Connor, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims and Kenneth Williams all having appeared in previous entries. Hattie Jacques makes a cameo appearance during a hospital scene and Liz Fraser makes her debut in this, the first of three Carry On films. The film was not well received by the critics, but the British cinema goer made this the tenth most popular film of 1961. No Super 8 release.
