What’s Good For the Goose

by

Another of the titles we acquired from Tigon. Derek saw the name of Norman Wisdom and that was that! Directed by future film mogul Menahem Golan, it has Norman as a mild-mannered banker getting turned on by the flower power generation, including a scrumptious Sally Geeson and having it off to a groovy soundtrack by “The Pretty Things”. So not the usual Wisdom fare then! However its charm isn’t in the (un)funny bits, as a poignant, even sad, tale of a middle-aged banker desperate to be young again, at times it comes off surprisingly well.

Saying that, it was the worse seller from the Tigon package, selling even fewer copies than ‘Virgin Witch’.

Part, at least, weirren by Norman himself. Interesting now for a look at Southport how it was at the time. It seems that there were sevral edits of this fim for various markets involving different amounts of Sally’s nudity. It was mentiones a few years ago when she attended a vintage TV event in Stoubridge. She seems a lovely lady.

I remember a quote at the time of the release.”WHilst sister Judy was Stripping off for Rod Stieger in”Three into Two won’t Go” Sally was stripping for Norman Wisdom”!
